If you are NOT in support of the changes, we need you and everyone you know who uses Soquel Creek Water District for their water service to mail or hand-deliver (telephone, e-mail, and fax protests will not be accepted) a written protest to the District's office. Your protest must include the property service address and/or assessor's parcel number (APN), the eligible individual's name (property owner or tenant), a statement to the effect of "I protest the proposed water rate adjustments," and an original signature. All Protests must be received by the District by Feb, 20 at the latest.
For your convenience, print this web page and clip the illustrated protest form and mail it (address shown on the form) or hand deliver it to the District's office. The protests will be counted at the Public Hearing on February 20, 2024. Only one written protest per affected property will be counted. If a majority of affected property owners or ratepayers submit a written protest, the District is prohibited by law from changing its water rates at this time. You can also download the ProtestForm below, use one of the forms to submit, and give others to neighbors who are residents/tenants of an affected property having a water service connection of Soquel Creek Water District and wish to protest.
There is another option. If you wish, you can drop off your protest to Kris Kirby and she will turn it in directly to the Soquel Creek Water District office, or at the public hearing. You can go by Kris' business office: Signwave, 8032 Soquel Drive #B. Aptos. She will be happy to do that for you.
Many people have expressed that they do not trust Soquel Creek Water to count all of the protests that they receive. If it makes you feel better please send them directly to
8032 Soquel Drive #B
Aptos, CA 95003
and she will take them to the 2/20/24 board meeting.
To Protest, you can either:
1. Bring your Protest to the Board Meeting on Feb 20 at 6:00 at the Capitola City Hall.
2 Bring to Signwave at 8032 Soquel Drive #B Aptos and she will bring it to the meeting for you. You can drop it through the mail slot if no one is there.
You can also download the attached ProtestForm.pdf file, print it and give one of the forms to neighbors who are residents/tenants of an affected property to complete and mail to Soquel Creek Water District Board of Directors, 5180 Soquel Drive, Soquel, CA 95073. It must be received by February 20, 2024.
